Real Food Festival Maleny

Real Food Festival Maleny is here this weekend!

Costa Georgiades and Scott Mathias at the Real Food Festival in MalenyI’m delighted to be presenting on both days at this weekend’s Real Food Festival in Maleny.  Last year, I took part in a Q & A with Costa Georgiades from Gardening Australia and what an experience that was.  We met up again at the Garden Expo in Nambour in July and it was like welcoming a long lost brudda!  If you haven’t seen Costa live, then do make an effort to check him out.  He’s a great presenter and has a host of great information about growing-your-own and community gardens around Australia.

But back to my own educational work and product offerings at the many wonderful and varied events in my own back yardright here in Queensland.

After a short break from speaking engagements in August, I’m on the road again this month, so if you get a chance, come and say hello to Clare and I. Stand P7 in the Paddock (turn left at the entrance) or at one of my talks on Saturday or Sunday.  See below for details and times.

There’s lots of fun things to do with the kids and thankfully, the weather’s always good at this event.  I also had the privilege of introducing James Colquhoun from Food Matters TV, and James will be here again this weekend.  This time you can see him at 11.45 in the Eat My Words stage near the Pavilion.

So, if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, come along and join in the fun and learn more about REAL FOOD and why it’s important to start growing or buying from local producers and suppliers.

Finally, I’d like to THANK YOU for being a loyal subscriber to this blog.  Your response to my previous post about opening up Australia’s First GoVegan Deli has been incredible.  We already have almost 500 LIKES on our GoVeganDeli FB page and enquiries are coming in for private parties and catering work.  We have even had franchise enquiries for other parts of Australia, New Zealand, Europe (Germany) and the UK.  WOW!  We knew there was a demand but we didn’t expect such a vibrant and happy response to our news.  Look out for my next post when I’ll be updating you on progress of the shop and opening date!  I know… that’s great if you live on the Sunshine Coast but for those further afield and overseas, we do intend to expand this brand rapidly so keep a close eye on what’s happening.
