Functional Medicine on Top 10 List of 2015 Health Trends

It gives me such a ‘rush’ to see my old Integrative Nutrition lecturer, Dr Mark Hyman, looking as young as ever.

Mark Hyman is one of this planet’s foremost leaders of ‘new health thinking’ and the Mind Body Green folk recognise his attributes, knowledge and commitment to ‘making a difference’ to people’s lives.

Dr Mark Myman

Dr Mark is a Functional Physician and I only wished he was around 45 years ago when I was asking ‘What is the cause of my daily acid reflux, bloating, indigestion, depression AND a myriad of other physiological malaise?

Eating whole, clean, fresh and sustainable food AND using that food as your ‘daily medicine’ is just one of the points of focus arising from Functional Medicine. See my Let’s Eat RAW Recipe book HERE.  However the real point of focus is finding an answer to this one simple question. ‘What is the cause of the chronic illness?’

Let me share with you something a lot of people ‘just give up on’. I asked ‘What is the cause?’ of my gut dysfunction every day for all of those 45 years, until one day I was forced by circumstance to experience such desperation that the answer was delivered to me. Simply put, my gut was/is not able to cope with ‘old world proteins’ like meat, wheat and dairy, full stop!! So I coped with my reflux, which nearly killed me, until I was absolutely ready to hear the answer. I found my beloved Green Papaya Powder, which helped repair my gut functionality. Now people like Mark Hyman are growing in number. They have moved away from the Symptomatic/Pharmacological approach, which remains to this day a multi-billion dollar industry.

Taking a functional approach to a chronic illness removes the ‘pharma-influence’ and gives power back to the individual. My body is healed now because I adopted a ‘life style’ which meets my daily health happiness needs.

For too long we have allowed ourselves to be the guinea pigs of the medical pharmaceutical industrial complex. Thank-fully for the people, you are waking up to the truth that regardless of all the pharma available and so-called science and medical breakthroughs, we actually have more sick people now than ever before. Why, because Doctors fail to ask the one simple question; ‘What is the cause?’ of the diabetes, the gut dysfunction, the depression, the fibromyalgia, arthritis etc etc. Instead they just ‘blindly’ pump the beautiful human body with drugs called by unpronounceable names and filled with unpronounceable chemicals.Understanding The Divine Gut - How To Eat Your Way To Ultimate Digestive Health, Scott Mathi</a srcset=
